Hey everyone

Fall has officially started here. When the colors of the leaves change, so do the colors in my wardrobe. Army green is a perfect color for Fall and anything in this hue is a definite staple in my closet. Because the color is so masculine, I like to mix it up with something feminine and delicate like the floral top I am wearing today. Tough and boyish army wear VS soft fabrics, lace and pink flowers. To me a perfect combo for a run around town. What do you think?

Plastic Fantastic with G-Star's - Raw For The Oceans -

October 21, 2014

Hey everyone

How do you like this ultra cool denim jacket I am wearing? Well, here is a surprise for you.  This piece was created from a bionic yarn, which is derived from ocean plastic.  Plastic waste are ruining our beautiful oceans and who would have thought denim could be created from that same plastic?

Denim brand: G-star Raw came up with the help of the fabulous Pharrell Williams to create a denim line made purely out of ocean plastic with a purpose to save our beautiful oceans. When I spotted their collection online, I was surprised to find out that apart of a great purpose, it is absolutely fantastic to wear too!

I am a fierce lover of the oceans, and it breaks my heart that we are totally polluting it, so why not create something that can help this issue?  Did you know the oceans contain six times more plastic than sea life? These are shocking numbers and to think that ocean creatures eat away from that plastic with disastrous results, it 's just fantastic to find out that G-Star's Raw For The Oceans is taken action in such a creative and innovative way.

When I watched Pharrell Williams being interviewed on a national televised Dutch talk show talking about this project, all I could think of was that I wanted to help spread the word for this amazing cause. Turning something negative into fashion. How great is that?  When I thought of shooting this piece, I could only come up with one location, and that is exactly where it came it from.  I took it straight back to the ocean. To make a statement,  I jumped into the icy cold water with winds at wind force seven and temps that were not so beach friendly.  Families complete with children and dogs on their Sunday stroll gathered around us probably thinking we were completely nuts made this was quite the memorable shoot. The result was ending up getting soaking wet and frozen to the bone, but hey anything for a great fashionable cause right?

Fall Party

Happy Monday everyone

The best fall days are the ones that still feel like summer, but with a certain breeze of crisp air.  In today's post, it's one of those days. Warm, sunny and golden leaves are falling from the trees. I absolutely love it. The golden colors are so magical, and it is great to bundle up in a cozy poncho like the one I am wearing from Sheinside right here. The colors reminded me of the fall, so that's is the reason it was love at first sight.

Me being one mixing colors all the time I thought I could do something different and keep the rest of the outfit all black making the poncho really pop and stick out this way.  I made sure the look had some texture going on by choosing the flowing top with silver thread detailing.

Fall is, of course, thé reason to get those tall boots out and like I promised I will show you multiple ways on how to wear them over the next few months. Over the knee boots pair perfectly with a poncho because it creates a very interesting silhouette. It makes you appear taller and slimmer, especially if you wear the jeans or pants in the same color. Now isn't this something we all want?

Hey everyone

I am so sorry I have been absent for a week on this blog you guys. Last week I came down with a bit of a stomach flu.  This explains my lack of posting because all I could do was lie on a couch drinking gallons of tea and holding movie marathons on HBO.  I was totally bummed out about it, especially as I wanted to shoot a real fabulous post on the beach last Saturday. Last weekend were probably the last warm  days of this summer and with the weather cooling off quickly I am not sure if I will be able to do this beach shoot anytime soon. I guess I will have to submit myself to freezing in the water next week and pretend it's warm. Let's pray for some good weather, because I am anxious sharing this one with you all.  The good news is; I am back and healthy again and not going anywhere.

For today's post I am wearing a fierce red biker jacket which has been one of my absolute favorites ever since I got it about a year ago. The color red is hot for fall 2014. For me a great reason to keep holding on to this piece that matches almost every outfit I can think of. I added this cool sleeve tie skirt for a casual sporty vibe but kept it chic by adding strapped heels and a crisp white blouse. I finished the look with a indigo blue hat.  For me a fun way of mixing different styles.

What do you think?
