Bali is one of the most popular destinations at the moment, Bali is all about stunning temples and amazing white beaches, but not only that. Bali’s modern restaurants and bubbly nightlife while keeping their authenticity are absolutely extraordinary. While having explored the island, me and Emiel are already kind of stuck to our favorite places although we keep trying new ones every day.
We‘ve hung out at the most popular spots like the amazing Potato Head beach club with an infinity pool, live DJs and finger licking good food in Seminyak, Find the best roasted pork at Ibu Oka in Ubud. Do you feel like dancing the night away in a great club with three floors and budget friendly shots and cocktails? Check out to the Skygarden Club in Kuta with an amazing view over Bali. It is very touristy but still a lot of fun.
For great eating, there are sunset venues like Ku De Ta, The W Retreat Hotel in Seminyak, or pick out your own fresh fish and dine on the sandy beach of Jimbaran beach. These spots are an absolute must do, but are getting more crowded by the day. I thought of sharing a few spots with you guys that are not only hip, cool and trendy but are also upcoming and less crowded by obnoxious tourists.
If you ever plan to visit Bali, just make sure to stop by one of these spots and let me know what you think. I am curious to hear your thoughts.
We shot this outfit at Café Lotus in Ubud. Ubud is the spiritual heart of Bali, unique for their beautiful temples, artwork, but also tons of shops, restaurants, vegan eateries and coffee shops. At Cafe Lotus, you can enjoy your meal while sitting on the floor overviewing a blooming lotus pond and the Saraswati temple surrounded by magnolia trees and luscious orchid plants. It is absolutely breathtaking and the food is great and very well priced. Make sure you call in for reservations, as it can get busy during peak hours. We arrived at 3 in the afternoon and it was so relaxing and peaceful.

The sidewalk in Legian is a very warm and welcoming spot and in my opinion they serve the best chicken satay in Bali! It looks small from the street, but has a big, but basic open air area on the second floor with a view of the crowded street, so definitely great for people watching and enjoying a cool breeze. The food is so delicious that we‘ve been back here over ten times in just a few weeks. The very extensive menu is ranging from Indonesian cuisine to all kinds of western dishes. The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. No words for this place, just go and check it out. It is our absolute favorite.

Chandi restaurant located in the heart of Seminyak is another favorite that has me craving their five–star quality food even when I am back in Europe. Chandi also has one of the best chicken satay skewers I have ever tasted in my life, sorry grandma. It comes out from the kitchen sizzling on a hot rock. All dishes are outstanding in quality, the decor is beautiful and relaxing and the staff beyond welcoming and friendly. We’ve been coming back here more than once. So that should explain how much we love it.

Coffee Corner is a great café for breakfast and lunch. A cool and modern spot, it overlooks busy Melasti street in Legian. They serve one of the best coffees in Bali and their chicken curry soup is the best curry I have ever tasted and I mean ever! If you are strolling around the Legian / Kuta area, make sure to stop by here for a delicious break. We have come back to this place a few times already and to top it the staff is very friendly and kind.
