Happy 2020

January 9, 2020

A new year, a new decade! I am wishing everyone a happy, healthy, prosperous, amazing 2020! I hope you all had a fantastic time during the holidays. I know I did.  So here we are, a new year.  I could go on about my 2020 goals and new year resolutions, but in my opinion we can make resolutions to become a better person every day. January 1 doesn’t change a thing. I think your mindstate does. I think it’s important to want to become a better version of your self no matter what the date is. I know I will work more on inner peace of mind, becoming more patient, even better health and taking more time to help others.  We can be so busy with life that sometimes we tend to forget others who might need our attention a little more. I will make 2020 a year to do such things. Be more present and helpful. Travel is also on my list. Especially Bali and Los Angeles.

Happy 2020!

In Amsterdam,  I love stopping by my favorite hotel cafés for coffee or a glass of wine. Preferably lunch or dinner included. For some reason, I love the cosmopolitan atmosphere. It reminds me of my travels that I am not always able to do.  For a night out like this, I like to dress up and wear a sparkly dress by Femme Luxe Finery. If you are a regular reader of this blog you might know that I am becoming a big fan of this UK based brand. Check out their online boutique, because all their party dresses are on sale right now!

On the flip side I do have some thoughts for you for the new year. Here are five tips to send you on your way to a rewarding 2020

Start small and work your way up – Life is busy, don’t try and conquer the world the first month. Instead, start with eating an apple or banana a day. Increasing your fruit intake with natural sugars can help you stay more alert and live a healthier lifestyle every day.

Don’t try to change overnight; focus on one thing at a time – Instead of writing down a list of 10 goals you want to accomplish this year, start with one. Create a plan for how you will complete this goal and focus on substituting something negative in your life with something important to you.

Get other people to join you and make it rewarding – Get a group together or simply find a partner to be your accountability buddy. Having someone else to share your thoughts and struggles with while trying to accomplish your resolution can make it easier to get through.

If you start falling behind, you’re fine, breathe and keep working on it – No one is perfect, and things are going to get busy, so cut yourself some slack if you forget about your goal. Refocus and try to continue going in the direction of success.

Is your resolution SMART – We have all heard it before, SMART stands for specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely. While deciding what your resolution will be this year, make sure it has all five of these components to make it achievable.

What are your plans for 2020?

Thanks for stopping by everyone!
