If you are anything like me, getting ready in the morning is a rushed event. Even when I get up on time and still have hours to go, I manage to run around the house to get my outfit, hair, and makeup in order. First, my curly hair takes quite some time. If I don’t wash it, I rinse it, condition, scrunch it with a curl cream and finish with scrunching a gel for curly hair. I use products from Deva Curl and Brazilian Bond Builder. Both amazing products for curly and highlighted blond hair. It keeps my hair healthy and frizz-free! I will soon write a post about my curly hair routine. How it has changed the health of my hair for the better. On to makeup, which takes me about 20 minutes. Then my outfit. I love fashion, but the last thing I want to do is going over different outfits for 45 minutes. So the solution here: I like to break my outfit down to something simple, yet makes a polished and fashionable statement.
Here a few tips you guys!

Trousers:
It’s wintertime so with temperatures low, I tend to choose a pair of statement trousers over skirts. It could be a fun pair of printed joggers, sporty or dressy leggings, skinny sweatpants. Think leather-look, lace rimmed, bright colors etc. Once you have picked a pair of statement trousers you can keep the rest of your look pretty simple. making it easier for you to get ready faster. I mean it’s a piece of cake to match with a black knitted sweater. Almost every girl owns one right?
Bag
The easiest way to crank up your outfit is by choosing a statement bag. Don’t play it safe and grab that good ole black bag. Be different, go bold and invest in a few eye-catchers when shopping for your next bag. Be it a small or a large bag. I love bags that are fun in texture, print or fabrics. This Michael Kors crossbody bag has been my favorite for some time now. No matter what outfit I choose, this particular piece adds that certain edge that I am always looking for. Easy with no effort.
Shoes
When I’m wearing a pair of statement pants especially a busy print or bright color, I like to keep my shoes, heels or boots pretty simple. Easy to throw on and nothing much to worry about when in a rush. I have been a big fan of Dr. Martens and I tend to reach for them all the time. Love the rich burgundy color of this high heel version.
Jewelry
I’m keeping my jewelry to a minimum with this look, so the few pieces I am wearing are making a subtle statement. When you are in a hurry you don’t have much time to try out different pieces. I usually grab a pair of statement earrings. These really spice up any type of look and takes your outfit to a more “dressy” level. I also wore this gorgeous Swarovski bracelet that Elleon gave to me as a birthday gift. Of course, you can go all out and pick some statement jewelry. Especially if your outfit is pretty simple like the one I am wearing. Choose silver or gold big chunky rings and/or bracelets, stack em or use jewels with bright stones to elevate your outfit to the next level fabulous.
For me, dressing up in a hurry is all about choosing one particular statement piece and then take it from there and add simple items and always finish with fun jewelry. I am getting better at it. The older I get the less time I want to spend before heading out the door. When I started this blog, I would take hours to get ready. No more! It has been fun for me to see the changes in myself, my fashion style and priorities over the years. Now, I want to be out and enjoy life and not worry about what I am wearing. I’m loving this change.
So how about you? What do you snatch from your closet when in a hurry? Thanks for reading my friends!
With love
